About Me

I'm a wandering writer. I'm generally quiet, observant, and a right brained thinker/dreamer. I love to read, to learn. I like to watch documentaries and certain programs about history, science, sports, and philosophy. I enjoy exploring new areas and visiting museums, natural parks, archaeological and architectural marvels. I spend a lot of time in libraries, and often find myself being outdoors hiking + biking. As I've gotten older, I'm less concerned with material things and am working to become an essentialist. I don't have much interest in the 'rat race' of modern society, and am wanting to become more self-sufficient and reliant so I can further detach and live almost completely off the grid. However, through the years I keep evolving, and am fully aware that my plans, attitude, and beliefs are always open to change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on here to perhaps gain new experiences, to meet more people, to file more memories into the brain bank.

Music, Movies, and Books

Many people say they like all kinds of music, but very rarely do I find this to be accurate. I can honestly say I like a little bit of everything. I like tribal music, classical, folk, bluegrass, electronic, hip hop, classic rock, hard rock, alternative, you get the picture. I like a lot of music out of the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Growing up as a teen in the 90's, I have a soft spot for bands like STP, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, REM, Sonic Youth, and others from the grunge era.
My favorite books are On The Road, East of Eden, S, and anything with Jack Reacher.
I like a wide range of movies. If it makes me think, all the better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a week in New York City to watch the ball drop when the year was turning to 2001, the real millennium. I felt like I was at the most important place in the entire world during that time, that there was nowhere else to be but there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Ideas. I'm full of them. I've enchanted quite a few with my philosophy on life. Not to brag, just stating facts. Besides that, I'm well rounded in a variety of skills that could be beneficial around the living space.
