Working hard and being successful
I am an English teacher living in the kasbah city of Rabat, Morocco. I speak Arabic as a second language, and I love meeting new people. My passion for Morocco often causes people to tell me that i should become a tour guide here, and I often help Moroccan host families in Rabat interact with English speaking students who travel to Morocco for weekends.
Every good thing that has happened to me in Morocco has happened because somebody has helped me in some way. I Have worked hard and earned my modest success, but plenty of people earn their success and never find it. I have been incredibly lucky in my life, and have met some wonderful people who have helped me in every possible way. Because of this, I feel like it is my responsibility to help other people out in whatever way I can. Helping travelers and hosting people is extremely gratifying for me, not only because i see it as a responsibility, but also because it gives me an opportunity to show others why I love this country so much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live in a house in the kasbah in Rabat with my American room mate, Joe. I have 3 couches available, and when I have time, when I'm not working, I can show people around the city, help them navigate transportation, book hotels, and plan further trips in the country. My room mate is often available when I am not. My ability to speak Arabic is helpful, especially for travelers who don't speak French or Arabic.
I love music, food, culture, and languages. I love meeting new people, talking about ideas, and working. I love Morocco, and it truly is a second home to me.
