About Me

Positively outrageous and delightfully curious!;-)
Must have been a Broadway star or a ship's captain in my previous life but in this one I'm just a very simple girl who tries to explore more/deeper and shares (unbelievable) experiences ;-) Like to fool around the world and always feel happy to find out there is a huge number of cool people who offer you salvation in every possible way! They come to save u from boredom in your own house, lend u a hand when u desperately need it in your travels or make your day/night special by simply being part of it!

I strongly believe every country reveals its beauty through its people! IT'S NOT WHERE YOU GO....IT'S WHOM YOU ARE WITH!!!

PLEASE: Bear in mind THIS IS NOT a dating site!! Just because someone agreed to host you or asked you for a couch does NOT mean she/he wants to sleep with you!!

As for personal philosophy, here are a few things in which I believe..

People come in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime!

Take what they give you, and leave when they ask you!

Don't argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and than beat you with experience!

A person will forget what you said, and what you did...but he will never forget how you made him feel.

Reality is much more complex than any judgement of right and wrong encourages you to believe. When you really understand the ethical, spiritual, social, economic, and psychological forces that shape individuals, you will see that people's choices are not based on a desire to hurt. Instead, they are in accord with what they know and what world views are available to them. Most are doing the best they can, given what information they've received and what problems they are facing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I let people sleep on my couch, in the bed, on the floor, in my bath tube, on the terrace, out the front door ;-)))
I also surf and pray they'll let me in and keep me:)
Furthermore I try to convince all my friends to participate so that I can start surfing their couches "officially" (not only when I can't hold my drinks) :)

All jokes aside I think the most beautiful and intense way to experience other countries and especially cultures is to get into direct contact with the locals

So far: Mindblowing!!

I Adore the idea of having the world come to my doorstep by receiving people from cities and villages I haven't even heard of and Love being received by a friendly stranger who treats me as though we've been friends for ages. Love the trust in mankind that people like this revive in me!
Yet... one thing that seriously bothers me is I see that a lot of people are too lazy or too scared to write a reference. Please DO TAKE THE TIME and write one for EVERYONE you meet (for more than 20 min of course) as THIS IS AN IMPORTANT INDICATOR for the next couchsurfer who will come in contact with that person! Just tell the truth!! Don't be afraid to write about the negative and don't forget to praise the positive! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Throughout the years there have been hundreds of amazing things that almost stopped my heartbeat. No idea where to start from.. I guess with those that are stuck forever in my mind: Iguassu waterfalls, the city of Petra in Jordan and my canopy tour in Jamaica :) and yes-Positano!
Everything has been amazing!!! I loved traveling in Albania and dancing in Argentina, diving in Egypt, sky-diving in Mexico and climbing waterfalls in the Carribbean islands... all of these have been great in a different, unique way and I can not compare or grade them.
I believe Every place has a charm to offer, you just need to keep your senses open :)

Teach, Learn, Share

What to take on a tarvel: ALWAYS carry a copy of your passport, a lock, a flat money-belt that goes around the waist, sunscreen, medication, repelent, condoms, earplugs, sense of humor, good attitude and flexibility! :)

What NOT to take on a travel: your fears, paranoias, suspicions and grudges....As the titan Mark Twain said: Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of the people need it sorely on these accounts!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything I receive I usually reciprocate double!
