Trying to pay back to the community by hosting people whenever possible. Also lowkey excited for summer to explore the island.
My friends would describe me as funny, friendly, straight-forward and spontaneous who believes being content is the point in life. I crave heart-to-heart conversations and fun times.
Likes photography, filmmaking and riding my 🛵.
EXTRA INFORMATION NO ONE ASKED FOR
After my bachelor's classes got over in 2016, I went to the Indian Himalayas to trek Sar Pass. Pictures I posted from the hike had lots of reach, and soon I had my inbox filled with messages. People were interested to know about the place I had been to.
I saw an opportunity there. I decided to make travel packages to those places at a student-friendly price. That is how I founded my travel company Monk In Shorts. With Monk In Shorts' savings and Couchsurfing, I managed to travel around more than I thought I ever could. Unfortunately, once covid hit, I had to stop Monk In Shorts and stay at home. So, I thought, why not use this time to get a master's degree. That's how I ended up moving to Victoria to join Royal Roads University to get a master's degree in Tourism Management.
Though I had surfed with heaps of hosts in the past 4 years, I never had the chance to host surfers properly. CS helped me meet amazing people I would have never met otherwise. It opened doors to homes that received me with nothing but immense love and hospitality. It helped me shape my perception and how I see the world.
The same is the story for Rijas, my long-term friend/roommate. We cohost together. We see this as an opportunity to give back to the community. We will try to host as often as possible. That being said, please note we are students with part-time jobs. We may not be able to talk all the time, depending on our schedule.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To see a place through local's perspective, to befriend like-minded people from different parts of the world, to know what it is like to live in a place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went to Bakthore near Line of Control in Gurez Valley of Northern Kashmir where there are no hotels or guest houses, with the hope that locals would invite me to their houses. They did and I had the best time of my life with them despite the language barriers. One of the places I had stayed was meters away from no man's land. I had lamb meat for first time from there. Those three days were amazing and this travel completely changed my views of Kashmiri villages close to LOC!
