When travelling, i love to pick one country and to bound with several places. I like both cities and rural places. Sometimes i'm in need of nature, sometimes i need the energy that only big cities can offer.
I guess life so far has learnt me that patience and perseverance are very valuable, and it is good to practice these until i can call them my very own skills. I feel an urge to wrap my head around the acts of writing and composing, and the work requires slow, precise labour.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When Couchsurfing decided to go B-Corporate i decided to lessen my usage of the website, which as an active community member wasn't very easy, but i felt that the new rules approved by the CS Administratives didn't resonate with my believes toward hospitality. I moved to BeWelcome, an other hospitality network. You'll always welcome to send me a couch request through this platform! My user name is Khorshid. :)
There are geographic regions i feel very drawn to because of different reasons; Central Asia, some West-African countries, Russia and Eastern Europe, Iran, the Caucasus, the Scottish Highlands.
I feel a connection with Malian music, desert blues and other music from the region. Therefore i try to educate myself within the Bambara, Tamasheq, Wolof and Fulani language, the griot culture, the guitar & kora techniques,
I like to know what happens in the world, and try to understand as much as possible, which leads to reading a lot.
I have this (unexplainable?) yearning for unknown languages. I'm always studying ten new languages simultaneously. Not saying i'm very succesful at it though :p
