I’m a small outgoing Finnish woman with big thoughts, ironic sense of humor and a skinny dog. My life is divided between Helsinki and Lappeenranta, a small Finnish city where I currently work as a medical doctor. I'm a feminist, vegetarian and a socialist - it’s wonderful to meet like-minded people, but I'm interested to hear different point of views and opinions as well, as long as you respect mine too. I love long conversations about how to make the world better and more equal place to live.

I'm interested in photography and constantly learning to take better pictures. I appreciate sustainable fashion and design and like fleamarkets and vintage - I'm always eager to hear second hand tips wherever I go. Contemporary art and indie films are also close to my heart.

I have a lively dog called Pasi who barks a lot and sometimes even howls. Don't worry, the dog doesn't travel with me. But if you'd like to stay at my place, you'd better like dogs!

Unfortunately I'm not able to host anyone right now because of living between two cities. Hopefully this is just temporary.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in good people. Everyone has their prejudices and privileges and to me being open-minded means that I try to look for mine. So in addition to traveling and making new friends, for me Couchsurfing has become a way to challenge my own thoughts about different cultures. Through Couchsurfing I’ve got hooked to the fascinating feeling of having a lot in common with foreign people I’ve never met before. At the same time I’ve learned that so many things I once considered obvious were just Finnish (or European, Western etc).
