well, the answer to the question about life, the universe
and everything supposedly is 42.
well, I´ve been 42, but I still haven´t got a clue...
people keep telling me that I look like 30something, wich is flattering, but I´m beginning to feel my age in my bones... while I live the life of a 20something and feel like 15 every now and then (but try hard not to act like that)
some people might think I suffer from a major midlife crisis, but it´s more likely to be a peter-pan-syndrome...
I like milk-coffee, daydreaming, listening to chet baker singing cooljazz, watching british comedy, reading weird, strange, funny books (currently reading: "Mr. Landen has no brain", "the third policeman","the book of drugs" )
cooking vegetarian, drinking, getting drunk, beeing drunk - although I´m actually taking a break right now. No, I don´t have a drinking problem,
and I´ve stopped taking the antidepressants as well ;)
I´m an atheist,
politically tending to the left, but inconsquently and
with occasional "Weltschmerz",
I seem to be situated in the sociological segment of "post-materialistic precarity", meaning: well educated, highly creative, and skint broke most of the time
okay, this is just for the record:
I am bisexual and interested in polyamory,
there, I said it, out of the closet.
wich does NOT mean that I´m a sex maniac or a swinger or something like that!
but for something completely different:
once again I´m contemplating the question: " what should I do with the rest of my life..."
maybe I should consider an extended couch surfing trip?
when mahatma gandhi was asked what he thought about western civilisation he said "oh, that would be nice!"
do what you want, as long as it feels good is what I´d like to say, but "ay, there´s the rub":
for what´s the use if it feels good at first,
but you´ll have a bad conscience afterwards...
isn´that the general problem with western civilisation?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I´ve hosted a few times at hospitality club, it was great fun! so I decided to join c.s. as well.
Oh, and my ex-flatmates are couch surfers, too, does that count?
I like to cook,
I go jogging every now and then,
I can draw,
I can paint,
I can write,
I can sing,
I´d like to learn an instrument, but can´t decide which one...
I´d like to live by the sea.
I´d like to improve my french.
I´ve got a bet running that I can do a one armed handstand on the edge of the table by summer... fortunately it hasn´t been specified by wich summer...
(to be continued...it hasn´t happened yet...)
Music, Movies, and Books
Here´s a shortlist of some of my favorites (not meant to be complete): Douglas Adams, Flann O´Brien, Coen brothers,Terry Gilliam, Jim Jarmush, Tom Waits, Chet Baker, Tortoise, Soulcoughing, P.J. Harvey, Bjork,Faith No More, Queens of the stoneage(I´ve got a profile on last.fm, too, username: superchrisi, but it´s more post-rock/ambient stuff, check it out)
what else? lots of stuff like british comedy and art and architecture...,
so, it´s your average sub-culture-approach,I guess
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
amazing things I´ve missed:
I managed to miss the opening of the berlin wall while living a few hundred meters away in west-berlin because I slept all day.
I managed to miss a Nirvana concert when they where still unknown because I slept all day.
(a friend of mine missed the same concert while drinking in the bar across the street...)
I managed to miss 09.11. because I slept all day.
so, with that kind of luck, I´ll miss the end of the world (which is supposed to be which year again...?)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell a joke in palatinate dialect.
oh, and I can tell an irish joke too, but not in authentic irish...
