Overview
About Me
My name is Nick and I am from Chicago. I'm currently a student at the University of Illinois studying transportation planning and engineering. I spent some time studying in Sheffield, England and during my time there I was able to explore Europe with some great people. Since then, I've decided that I want spend as much time seeing the world as I can.
Most would describe me as very laid back and easy-going. I usually go with the flow and do my best not to let little things bother me. I like to explore and try new things while I'm traveling and it's always my goal to find something cool or unique about a place that I didn't anticipate.
I will most likely be traveling with my girlfriend Melissa. She is incredibly sweet and speaks English and Spanish.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing so that I can meet new people in the cities that I travel to. I love checking out new cities but I've found that the experience is always better if at the very least you have a local that can make recommendations for you. If I can make a new friend in the process, that's even better.
Interests
I like traveling, kayaking, snowboarding, trying new food, listening to music, reading, playing the drums, seeing live music, and going to festivals.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love indie music and jam bands. Some of my favorite bands are Animal Collective, LCD Soundsystem, and Radiohead.
I just got done reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. I also enjoy reading novels, short stories, or letters by Twain, Hemmingway, Hunter S. Thompson, and numerous other authors.
City of God is one of my favorite movies.
