About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Having recently graduated college, I am anxious to start traveling the world. However, in order to be able to do this, I am living in my home town of Nyack, NY to save up some money for my travels. But just because I'm not going out into the world at the moment, there's no reason why I can't let the world come to me for the present!
ABOUT ME
I am twenty three and have just graduated from Brooklyn college with a degree in Classics. I am currently searching for a job and learning Spanish. I spend my days studying, hiking, sailing, kayaking and biking. I am very interested in languages and historical linguistics and currently have studied several ancient languages, however, I would like to expand my knowledge of modern languages and am sure that hosting would be the ideal way to do so.
PHILOSOPHY
I find it so strange that most people walk around their daily life, without interacting with the people around them. We are all here together, and everyone has an interesting story. It's always fun to look at someone, and try to guess their history: where they grew up, what languages they speak, whether or not they are in a relationship.
I wish that human beings were more open with each other, and more willing to just talk to one another for no reason other than that we are all human.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a number of people, all of whom were amazing to meet and a number of whom I still keep in touch with. I have also couch surfed in Italy and plan to do so on my upcoming trip to the western United States.
The couch-surfers I have met so far have been some of the kindest, most interesting people I have ever met.
Interests
I am very interested in Latin and Ancient Greek, as well as Anglo-Saxon English and Sanskrit. These languages have consumed most of my time over the past few years and I find their study to be extremely rewarding! I am conversational in Italian, though honestly I do need to practice more. I am also in the process of learning Spanish and am finding it to be quite a beautiful language!
I am lucky enough to live very close to New York City but at the same time very close to nature. My home town is right on the Hudson river and I spend a lot of my time hiking, sailing and kayaking.
