About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to travel the world, of course. Also on a mission to taste the cheapest wine in every city I visit and to make my parents wonder if they did something wrong or right in raising a daughter who won't stay in the country.

ABOUT ME

My name is Nicolette. I'm from Pennsylvania in the United States, but living and working in Santiago, Chile until 2016. I love immersing myself in different cultures, and meeting and getting to know new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As of now I've mostly participated in couchsurfing to stay with people in Europe and South America, and have attended events and meetups in Spain and Chile. I'm excited to start hosting someday when I have my own place!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had amazing experiences through couchsurfing, and I'm always left amazed at how kind and generous people can be. I've met some awesome people via couchsurfing, and I love getting to know them in this way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- I mostly like indie rock (Good Old War, Two Gallants, Band of Horses, etc.), but Beyonce is my queen. I'll also listen to anything from any genre if it's in a different language.

Movies- Star Wars, of course, and anything with Ryan Gosling.

Books- I read a lot of nonfiction books about political and economic theory and haven't read fiction in a long time, so feel free to suggest some titles :). I've also read The Outsiders upwards of 50 times throughout my life, if anyone's trying to strike up a conversation about how disappointing the movie was in comparison.

TV shows- why is this not a category? The Office deserves to be on any list of this nature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think my favorite trip ever so far has been to Patagonia in the south of Chile. The landscape is unreal- it makes you feel like you're in another world. I didn't have time to do any camping, but I did the full day hike to the top of Torres del Paine. The hike was about 8 hours long and very demanding, but the view at the top was completely indescribable. 10/10 would go back tomorrow.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can do a Spanish/English practice session if anyone's interested. Other than that, I can share quotes from The Office and teach you all of the lyrics to irrelevant rap songs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, Italy, Panama, Spain, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
