About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to travel up east coast of Australia spending as little money as possible but still experience the most of it..

ABOUT ME

My name is Nina and I'm 20 years old. One of my greatest interests is to travel around the world. I've been traveling a lot with my family in Europe and in Asia and now I'm on a 6,5 months trip all through southeast Asia. Me and my friends started in Moscow and took the Transsibirian Railway through Mongolia and into China where we stayed for 5 weeks. Then we moved on to Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and now our last destination, before we're heading home: Australia.
We're here for one and a half more months and because it would be exiting to get to know some Australians we have now joined Couch Surfing.

My two other friends that are traveling with me are my two friends from high school: Rebecca and Carolina.
They enjoy traveling as much as I do. Back home my friend Rebecca works in a restaurant and Carolina with taking care of elders. I have worked at a amusement park, bookshop and in shopping mall.

After we finished high school we saved money for one and a half year for this trip. We needed a break from school and also we needed to figure out what to do with our lives. I think I've made up my mind now, I'm going to be a journalist and Carolina a nurse. Rebecca can't really decide if she would like to continue working in restaurant business or apply for a Police Academy.

So we're probably going to start University soon but Rebecca and Carolina would like to visit South America first and so do I on my around-the-world trip with my boyfriend. We haven't really decided yet where to go but I will definitely going to couchsurf my way around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is: "It's not easy when it's difficult".
another one is: " You only live once, so make the most of it".

Music, Movies, and Books

We recently saw some good movies at a cinema in Melbourne. Benjamin Button - a most amazing story, Marley and Me - a sweet feel-good movie and Changeling - a gripping and horrible but true story with very good acting from Angelina Jolie. Everything that Clint Eastwood direct nowadays is very good. We would like to see Milk (especially me cause I really like Sean Penn) and Slumdog Millionare, to find out if it is worth the eight Oscar's it received at the Academy Awards. Probably it does!

On our trip we read books constantly. It has been a lot Marian Keys, thrillers and right now some classics like Edgar Allan Poe which we found in a bookstore in Melbourne.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

a lot, especially our trip in Mongolia when we did horseback riding in the middle of nowhere. It was so beautiful countryside so it was a amazing experience. Another one was when we did tubing in Vang Vieng and another one our whole trip in China. If you haven't been in China, don't hesitate just go there. It can be difficult with the language barrier but on the other hand that's why it so exciting and fun to travel through China.

Teach, Learn, Share

If there's something I would like to teach others it is to be flexible, honest, generous, and to treat others the way you would like to be treated.
Me and my friends we would like to meet a lot of new people from different parts of the world and from different cultures and in that way learn to understand each other better.
