getting through university
Read Profile, I'm not living in Berlin anymore..
I've been living in Berlin for 5 years now, been studying at university, enjoying my life. Moved to the small student city of Giessen, in Hessen, to do a masters in political science. Happy to be moving further around - this time to Aarhus, Denmark for an Erasmus exchange semester. See my other descriptions and photos and for the rest: just come and meet me.
I'm not one of those lucky guys who have one philosophy they're living after. My philosophy is constantly changing but one thing I can say that I've been thinking for a long time now is:
Experience! And be reflexive about it. Personal experience, knowledge and ideas from reading and reflexivity - both personal and intersubjective (talking to other people) - combined can give you insight and keeps you in touch with your and our lifeworld.
Then: Enjoy your life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed a lot all around the world and I'm happy to host occasionally, meet new people and show them around.
Had great experiences in Iran, India, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Cuba and Canada. Also in my home country of Germany, when looking for a place and couchsurfing in the beginning. Met so many different and interesting people. Can't get enough of it.
music, books, cultures, traveling, cooking, having fun!
In my free time I read a lot (theory books, political books, newspapers, novels), try to cook new meals almost every week, go out and explore preferrably by hiking or biking, occasionally on a boat sailing, meet up with friends hava dring and/or bbq, see if there is interesting podium discussions or exhibitions going on.. etc pp.
- performing arts
Music, Movies, and Books
Pulp fiction definitely one of the most epic movies!Generally Quentin Tarantino movies are great, Inglorious Basterds, Kill Bill, Django Unchained!
The Godfather almost doesn't need to be mentioned!!!
Moon Palace by Paul Auster, great book about traveling and finding/exploring someones identity!
Rolling Stones, CCR, Jimi Hendrix, Supertramp, Johnny Cash, Phil Collins Big Band, Tower of Power, as you can see a wide variety of different styles and artists....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-My stay in Vancouver as an exchange student, which was my first time I've lived in another country and culture and appreciated it a lot!
-A backpacking trip with 6 friends through south-east europe on which we slept next to homeless all over Europe and ate grasshopers in need of food
-Working in a primary school and an orphanage in Kenya
-meeting student protesters in Iran
-a lot of things I did in India ;-)
-climbing a mountain up to 4600m in the Andes (Argentina) all by myself without any equipment (was wearing converse...) in 5 days!
-Camping at whistler during the winter; almost freezer to death but it was fun
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some trumpet playing or general stuff about music. Also a bit of cooking.
I want to learn a lot of things. Generally everything another person can teach me I'm happy to learn.
Have to learn how to ride a motorbike properly.
I really wanna get into trekking/hiking/mountaneering more deeply!
Learn how to survive in nature!
Learn how to dance Salsa and speak Italian..
I could go on and on...
