About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Connect with a diverse range of people who can give me a glimpse at how they choose to enjoy their lives

ABOUT ME

I like people. I live in Buenos Aires- working, learning Castellano, thinking about going back to university here. Let me know if would like to take English classes from me!

PHILOSOPHY

People should take the time to contemplate the wonder around them and make an effort to notice it throughout their busy days. I think balance, compassion and a positive yet pragmatic attitude are essential elements of healthy living. Those who are privileged should acknowledge that they are by giving back to the world in their own way.

On my self-involved days: "An unexamined life is not worth living"- Socrates

On my lazy days: "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans"- John Lennon

On my anxious days: "Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One experience, it was great

Interests

Being active, helping people, ideas, nature, interconnection, biking, laughing, music, yoga, good food, being inspired. Art, nature and people inspire me...what they inspire me to do is something I still haven't quite figured out.

Music, Movies, and Books

The best movies I saw this year were "The Dancer Upstairs", "Sicko", "Across the Universe", and "Mulholland Drive". "Six Feet Under" is great.

Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Van Morrison, Talking Heads, Velvet Underground. Arcade Fire, TV on the Radio, Joanna Newsom, Cat Power, The White Stripes. Leo Kottke, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Ravi Shankar, Ry Cooder, John Coltrane and Ali Farka toure.

Tony Morrison's "Sula", Dave Eggar's "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius", Herman Hesse's "Siddartha" and "Narcissus and Goldmund", Aldous Huxley's "A Brave New World" and Jack Kerouac's "Dharma Bums". I like fiction where the main characters have horrible mental disorders like "Running With Scissors" and "The Curious Incident of the Dog at Midnight".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I saw my shadow on a cloud. I was standing on a mountain with a campfire behind me and the clouds below me. I've jumped into a hole in a frozen lake. Not too amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

What do I know about. Psychology, yoga, music, Minnesota (the Twin Cities and the lakes), camping, Northwestern USA, sustainability. I like to talk about new ideas, old ideas from a new perspective, good movies, other arts, ethics, food, human behavior, and sometimes I like to sit in silence, but this doesn't come naturally for me.

I'd like to know more about cooking, playing music, meditation, how to make money and love your job at the same time (without it consuming your entire being), immigration law, world religions and neurology. Really, I'd like to learn about most of the things you know about.
