About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting back into London - The Greatest City on Earth!

ABOUT ME

This is always the problem! Who am I and what am I? I am a travelling cameraman, photographer and general Jack of all trades, and master of backgammon! My travels have taken me to over 30 countries, mostly by overland routes.
I am clean, tidy and organised, enjoy socialising, cooking and eating with interesting people, and I am happy to help those who help others. ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

There is not enough time to see and do everything, but I keep trying! I think that 'western' lifestyles have started to blur the real world and many people are scared of what is out there! I think people are people and you receive what you give out, happy peaceful people meet happy peaceful people - All very Buddhist I think, or is it Taoist! Anyway just "Ride on and turn the people on!" Enjoy life and whatever it brings you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I spent several years living in London where I shared my flat and couch with traveller from all over the world. Although I have only recently joined the CS community, I hope that I will be able to offer my hospitality again soon - but for now, it's time for me to be 'on the road again..!'

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I made two great friends from Oz when they came and spent almost 6 months in my place. We got on really well, met each others friends and spent many nights eating, drinking and talking about trips and places. Some years ago, I met a great family in Darwin when I stayed at there place for almost a month, we went out all together exploring th eNAtional Parks of NT.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love the Coen Brothers and Luc Besson. Loads of Movies from most genres. Music is like a journey - you never know what you will hear next and how it might inspire you. I love lots of music.
I read very little, but when I do, I like real life stories of peoples adventures. John Simpson of the BBC wrote a couple of books on his experiences as a correspondent.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove a car from Europe to Japan - It was a great adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to exchange tips and tricks about video and photography -
I can teach anyone to cook a cheap and simple meal
I am quite good at teaching conversational English
And would like to improve my French, learn Spanish and Italian or some useful phrases in other languages.
I would like to and would be happy to take portrait photograph of my hosts & guests.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, China, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, Russian Federation, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United States, Uzbekistan
