Mission objective Pluto Whiskey: photograph the world. I have a list of every country on earth, and I'm checking them off.
I started life in the great Pacific Northwest (Bainbridge Island, to be exact, just a ferry ride from Seattle), and now I live in Brooklyn. A step down? Possibly; the NW is pretty solid. The important thing is that I feel like I've got to keep moving or I'll stagnate and die - it's sort of like that joke Woody Allen makes about a shark at the end of Annie Hall. Except that I'm using his metaphor for a relationship as a meta-metaphor for my own life as relationship with myself, so maybe you could call it a meta-meta-metaphor. No, that just sounds pretentious.
Anyway, I am, by various degrees, a writer, photographer, filmmaker, musician, actor, and, I like to think, above all a traveler, an observer of culture, history, blah blah blah. All a big way of saying that I'm not settled yet like I probably oughta be if I had any sense. I work for an internet media company, Filmat11.tv, specializing in investigative journalism on politics, the environment, and the financial crisis: I shoot, produce, cut, and finish nearly everything that we put our name on, and I have interns to boot!
When not stuck at the editing rig, I'm usually to be found out shooting photos, or maybe in rehearsal somewhere, or, on Sundays, selling superhero equipment at the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. (www.826nyc.org), enjoying tasty burritos or pad thai, or hiding in a coffeeshop with a ridiculous little cup of overpriced espresso and a book rescued from a dumpster or someone's front steps. My library (almost entirely scrounged) is at about 485 volumes and growing.
Some very silly people have said that you should find what you're looking for and then stop. I've never really believed that.
Photography, travel, walking for miles through new neighborhoods (have been known to go for up to ten miles at a stretch) languages, film (making and viewing), writing, reading, directing, singing, guitar, music, swing dance, hiking, camping, riding bikes, abandoned places, photo editing (this is actually really fun for me), politics, acting, improv, acting nonchalant when celebrities appear in front of me, scribbling to-do lists, sipping espresso in small places neither the touristas nor the culture mavens have yet discovered, wikipedia surfing...the list goes on.
