CURRENT MISSION

I received a fellowship from Goucher College to travel across The United States for the summer. My friend and I will be visiting as many states and we can documenting the places we see and people we meet through photography and creative writing.

ABOUT ME

I am a college student studying comminutions, creative writing, and music. I just received a fellowship to travel across the United States and document my experiences through creative writing. I am friendly, creative, organized, and thoughtful. I'm very hard working and usually spend my summers working at my family's restaurant or at my local book store. But this summer I'll be traveling!!! I love to travel and learn about different people's cultures. I am very open-minded.

Interests

I love to sing, write, cook, take photographs (I have over 20 film cameras), knit, bake/cook for my family and friends, walk or jog on the beach with my dog, write letters and postcards, drive, listen to podcasts (especially This American Life and The Moth), read, play cards, go to concerts (I like jazz, classic rock, oldies, motown, and indie rock the best), and travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was ten-years-old, my mother and I got to witness the leonid meteor shower. We woke up at 4AM and walked down the the cranberry bogs near my house. It was very chilly and I was extremely tired, but as soon as I saw the night sky light up with shooting stars I was overcome with wonder.

Right now, I am studying abroad in Brazil. I don't speak any Portuguese (I'm learning), but everyone I've met has been extremely friendly and willing to help me. I have been so amazed at how beautiful the city of Rio is! There are mountains and long stretches of beaches everywhere I look. Being here in another culture is a really amazing experience.
