I love to travel, and I love to meet others from around the globe. I embrace diversity, honor different cultures and hope for the same openness in my new found globetrotters.
I am a gypsy at heart. I appreciate the first time traveler seeking something exciting and different; and I appreciate the seasoned traveler who just wants to fit it all in during this lifetime!
I'm an avid yogi (but not off the charts), and like to practice living with an open heart and mind. I am very welcoming, but also very independent, and personal space is very improtant to a traveler ; ) I am single and do not have kids. I have a dog who loves people and play any attention, but is fully obedience trained.
I am an avid outdoorswoman, so if you wanna hike, I can try to show you the way. I'm open to sharing what I can of my immediate area. And there's a lot!!
I clean up well for the arts an fine foods/wine. I love love love to dance, but still have some research to do around my newer surroundings for that. I Love music, and can share a little insight there. I have lots of contacts all over the globe, so there are possibilites of places to stay with them as well....
Awareness. Compassion. Understanding of different people from differnt places, and that we've all had experiences that have brought us together on some level.
Our energy affects each other, so live respectfully, as you would want to be treated..and there should be no worries.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've posted here, and I'm super excited!!! I know what it's like to travel on a budget, or want to get away from the big city and see the "real people" who live in a place... I'm excited to help others do that too...even if just for a day or two... along their path. I consider it part of my responsibility to show people (for free) the way others live... and how fortunate some of us really are to be where we are.
Hitchin in Canada! Good folk up there Eh? Crashing on couches in Oz... after a few beverages, it's a free for all. The Ticans are so kind and helpful, I never was in need of a couch but if I were, there's no doubt in my mind; Okinawans were sooo open to new ideas and cultural differences, and opened their homes to me to enjoy a real Japanese family! My Americans friends have always been kind, generous and open with their homes and hearts... Mi casa es su casa for sure. Americans love a foreigner...we are a melting pot afterall!
Hiking; surfing; running; yoga; swimming; paddling; mountaineering; camping; biking; movies; wine (very good wine!); dancing and music; animals!!!!!!!; helping others volunteering (especailly abroad); meditation; TRAVEL, travel, travel......
Music, Movies, and Books
Too much to mention: biograpies; Thich Nhat Hanh, Eckhart Tolle; Eat, Pray, Love. I'm a Stargater- love'em all...Alternative music mostly- will get down to dico and funk though; top 40 / hip hop too....used to dance, act, sing, so I enjoy most (except country). Avid movie goer- NETFLIX rocks! Indie and foreign, non mainstream are great!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seriously, one? C'mon: Present for 5 seperate human births! African White Rhino's (endangered) mating at dusk; Paddled with Calif. Gray Whales in MX; Up close, watched a Leatherback Turtle lay her eggs; My dog Samsara- no other spirit like her in the world!; Hiked four 14ners (so far); hiked 30 miles in a day. Paddled 37 miles in 4 1/2 hours!; swam in the middle of the Catalina Channel where there's no sight of land on either side; Placed in two trithlons; Made it to NYC as a theatre student; Surfed a wave on inception at Cardiff Reef!
