Change the world, one problem at a time :-)
I grew up in Romania and went to college there, but then I got a job offer at Google to work in New York. It was an offer I could not refuse. :-)
So five years ago I packed a few things and moved to New York, where I said I'll stay two years and see if I like it or not. Turned out I liked it, so I'm still in New York. Too active, too busy, too crazy, but it's a great city.
When I travel I like taking it easy. Have a coffee somewhere nice, walk around randomly, stop in a park and enjoy the sun, take a train or a boat somewhere around the city. I'm a bit of a foodie too, so finding some special restaurant to go to is also part of my travels.
My ideal day is relaxed, sprinkled with good conversation about anything, some photography, and a beer in a bar somewhere where you can talk at the end of it. Not at all big into clubbing or dancing, I'd much rather have a cocktail somewhere nice, go watch a movie, or cook something.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd be up for hanging out with people to show them the city. Hang out, take them to some favorite coffee shops or bike around to places that even new yorkers rarely go to.
I'm also interested in traveling to other places.
Computers, board games, paragliding, friends.
I watch a lot of movies, I bike a lot during the summer, often times to the beach in New York. I go out to bars, specially nice cocktail places.

Music, Movies, and Books
Woody Allen, Wes Anderson, french new wave, Lost In Translation, The Band's Visit, Oldboy, Black Swan, most Coen brothers movies, Scott Pilgrim, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
I tend to watch a lot of movies I guess, so it's hard to list them all here. :-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Burning Man was probably the most extraordinary event I've ever been a part of. Paragliding in Brazil was impressive. I think the Alps are breathtaking. India was absolutely beautiful!
