To go traveling aiming at documentary work.
I'm considered to be a friendly, somewhat chaotic guy with a persistent drive to attain complete independency / freedom. I like to have company at home, like to show you around town and discuss whatever topic. I consider myself hospitable, know my duties, but am not, I repeat, not a very good cook nor do I like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen - as of yet.
I'm never really satisfied with my statements on life in these kinds of fill-out forms - but we'll surely talk about life, if you want ;-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By hosting, learning from the persons I meet/host, cooking pancake's (my one and only specialty) and like to share what I know to be useful to others. Utrecht is a lot nicer than Amsterdam - according to many hosted couchsurfers' references (that reside in my ex-girlfriends couchsurfing-account).
I use to host many people through couchsurifing together with my ex-girlfriend (G. de Gelder). I think her profile including references to those hostings can still be found here somewere. As of yet I didn't use couchsurfing a lot to travel myself, but that is to change in the forthcoming year.
I favour an antropological perspective on culture and people. Like to infer peoples activities and motives by sitting in. This would also be the way to do things in a pilot documentary production that should happen this year.

Music, Movies, and Books
Documetaries on almost any subject, favouring the ones including a cultural / philosophical view on things. Recently seen on TV: "Life in a day". Recommendable!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ride on a donkey in the east of Turkey. Obey the Turkish military tanks on the top of a hill in the East (in the "malevolent" province of Bingöl). Ten days in Istanbul - devastating experience. Floating around in Venice and camping on one of the Islands across the Venetian waters. Camping at high altitude in beautiful Zwitserland. Traveling by train to the top train station in europe (3800m!) Amazing things in Utrecht that you should see: the city ring of water (dubbed "gracht"), especially nice from a floating perspective. Regarding my hometown covered in snow from our Dom tower (+100m).
