ABOUT ME

I'm somewhat 'retired' now, seeing as I have two kids! I used to travel and backpack and do all kinds of crazy things. I don't think those days are over, just on hold for now. I would like to travel with my kids when I can afford it, although my son will be off to college soon .

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is basically everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but they're not entitled to shove it down my throat, and I won't try to make anyone else believe what I believe. I believe in tolerance, in trying to understand someone else and their culture before judging them,in giving people a chance, although sometimes you might just have to go your own way.

I think this is SUCH a great idea, that even though I live in a place probably nobody wants to visit, I want to be a part of this! It doesn't matter if you never come and stay with me, just know I'm here cheering you on in your travels!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have crashed in many wierd places in my time. I slept in a dumpster in New York, on the sidewalk in Rimini. Italy, on a cot in a corridor in China, on a brick floor in Nepal (that was cold and uncomfortable) on a piece of plastic in Timbuktu..travellers help each other out and take each other in, that's how this site has become so popular, because we all help each other out.

I'm a painter, I also love to read, knit. make strange things, watch movies, cook, I stay home a lot more now than I used to
