I am a Ukrainian studying in London. I lived, studied and worked in a number of countries and would like to learn more about different cultures, world views and cuisines.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m taking a gap year in 2017 prior to the start of my job. I would like to explore new cultures and places as well as learning a new skill or language as I’m travelling around different locations.

Music
I keep my mind open to different genres, so it all depends on my mood… From Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West to Bob Marley, Steve Vai and Ludovico Einaudi. I also enjoy live jazz and classical piano. I used to play piano and guitar as a kid and would like to revisit those skills in future.

Movies & TV
Good Will Hunting, The Dark Knight, The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, American Crime Story, Game of Thrones (one of the goals for the gap year is to visit most of the filming locations in Europe), Billions, Mr. Robot, the list goes on… I enjoy finding out new stuff.

The Alchemist, Dan Brown (all of his books), Harry Potter books (haven’t read the Cursed Child yet), Miyamoto Musashi, Bruce Lee writings, Ryan Holiday, Big fan of Tim Ferris works (books and podcasts).

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to share interests in training martial arts and travel experiences. If you are interested in Ukraine or its history, I can introduce you to my country and the region, but also help learn Russian or Ukrainian.

One of the skills on my radar is learning how to dance (whatever the style, I’m up for a challenge). I would love to learn cooking traditional and authentic dishes from the locals.
