Overview
About Me
Student, traveler and explorer out to see and experience the world. After moving between a few medium sized cities in Norway after finishing high school, I moved to the United States for my bachelor's degree in Chicago, followed by a semester in the coldest city in Africa, Ifrane (Morocco), and now I've made it to Rotterdam for my master's degree.
I'm an outgoing person who loves to explore the world, meet amazing people and learn about their stories, eat incredible food and create unforgettable memories. I might come off as a bit shy to begin with, as I guess many of us do, but it doesn't take long for me to come out of my shell, and there's nothing I like more than to meet new people and create new friendships.
Throughout my life I've been extremely lucky having been on many trips around the world to places the average tourist doesn't get to see, and the most memorable parts of all these trips are the amazing people I've met along the way. Who knew you could meet an old Azerbaijani man in a market in the 9th largest city in Azerbaijan speaking Norwegian, only to learn he was a lawyer in Oslo? Or have a Kenyan professor in the U.S. inviting you to come visit her after she retire and move back home during a brunch after graduation to catch up? Or being invited on a trip to Washington D.C. with a small activist group just by stopping to hear what they had to say for a few minutes after getting off the L (the metro in Chicago)? I only know this because my curiosity and desire to explore the world forced me to step out of my comfort zone and seek those special moments!
The desire to seek those special moments never ends, and I hope couchsurfing can be a pathway to more extraordinary memories!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to meet other adventurous people who shares my passion for exploring the world and creating amazing memories and stories! I'm also looking for hosts when I travel, and eventually host others myself as soon as I get a place where that's possible.
