ABOUT ME

I have travelled around Brazil in the past. This time i want to stay.

The constant irony of life has once again allowed a positive opportunity to grow from a negative situation. For the last two and a half years I've wanted to try and make a life in Brazil. Now I have been given an opportunity to give it a go. I'm throwing caution to the wind, selling it all up and moving on out. I'm excited yet terrified, full of hope and yet full of doubt... in short I know I'm alive.

PHILOSOPHY

When it all comes to an end, as long as i can look back and say that I've made a positive contribution to the world around me and had fun whilst doing it then it will all have be worth it.

Film to escape, documentary to absorb, cooking to live, people to learn.

Good coffee in the morning, warm weather and the outdoors during the day, wherever life takes me at night (although as the years go by these places seem to get quieter).

Música, películas y libros

Anything that either increases my understanding, or simply makes me happy. I give as much credit to Ghostbusters and Back to the Future II as to the Godfather Part II and the Birds.

Currently on my 3rd draft of a screenplay. An animated family comedy about two animals from the Amazon and their adventure, with an environmental theme (hoping to be more like Pixar than Porky's 2).

Probably saving a dogs life. I had been working in the bolivian jungle for a few months at an animal sanctuary. One night in the local village a stray dog was trying to give birth. Something went wrong.

We begged the sanctuary for medical equipment but they didnt want to use valuable supplies. We ended up buying the necessary things from them.

With two Chilean vetinary students leading the way we set up some tables in the mud, and for 7 hours a few of us traded tasks, pointing torches, holding drip bags, picking out flies and bugs from inside opened up dog as the students, who had never before carried out an operation, worked to save the dogs life.

All the puppies were dead (this is what caused the problem), but after many hours the dog was sown back up and bandaged. Over the next few days it slowly recovered, and to my knowledge (im still in contact with people out there) that dog is still alive to this day.

A group of people with no connection to each other can do wonderful things with their heart in the right place and a willingness to work together for the greater good.
