ABOUT ME

This feels a bit like a job interview.................
Erm..........
I am 28 yr old, currently travelling solo through parts of East Africa. I like to do some independent budget travel for a few months, once every couple of years or so. When money is tight though, I'm happy plodding around Europe for quick trips, which is cheap & easy - the one major benefit of living in the UK.

I'm fairly adaptable in most situations. I've lived with a lot of different people over the years & I try to be non-judgmental. I have a very liberal view on life. Anything goes! I am not strongly religious but the whole religion thing intrigues me, so I'm quite happy discussing/learning about different beliefs.

I make my friends laugh a lot so i'm gonna guess that I can be pretty funny at times! They often tell me i should be on the radio (i'm hoping they don't mean i have a 'face for radio'!) I can't even begin to describe my sense of humour - probably typically British. Sarcasm & satire high on the list. I swear too much (apologies in advance). I blame this on the fact I work mostly with men & i'm easily influenced!

I don't really know what else to say......maybe just that I am one of those slightly scatty types of people, really disorganised, unsettled. Always open to ideas or suggestions. I mostly get judged on my looks - a bit of a girly blonde thing - so people tend to be surprised by my fierce independence and at the fact I'm actually a bit of a tom-boy who is more than happy when getting dirty, climbing on things, exploring & spending time outdoors.

That'll do - i didn't write this much for my final project at Uni, i'm sure!!!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Only just joined the CS community, in the hope i might find some accomodation/friends/contacts whilst in East Africa. I don't actually have a place of my own in the UK at present as I gave up my rented house before i left on my travels, but once set up again, I will hopefully be of more benefit to the CS members!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to Couch Surfing - I am currently on my travels in East Africa, met a guy called Vince in Uganda who told me about the CS community & told me to check it out!

Hate to state the obvious, but TRAVEL. Love hiking & canoeing & the great outdoors. I love the natural world & geology in particular - a lot of my travel destinations are chosen because there is a volcano i want to climb or mountains i need to explore. I can be a bit of a bookworm also. Also like history, achaeology. I am really just one of those eclectic, confused people who has an interest in just about everything. Would also like to mention that i like a few beers/glasses of wine/cocktails when the chance arises, as well putting my dancing shoes on!

Jedna niesamowita rzecz, którą zrobiłem(-am)

I haven't got time to list them now as internet time running out! But have been to many countries & had some wonderful experiences.
On this trip the highlight so far has been sitting on top of Nyiragongo Volcano in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mesmorised by the sounds and sight of the lava crashing around in the crater lake, with a distant thunder/lightening storm rumbling over Lake Kivu and the twinkling of stars above and the lights of Gisenyi and Goma towns below. Just WOW.
