About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm hoping to travel the world in seach for new experiences and knowing new people from all around the globe.

ABOUT ME

I am the son of two great people from which I've learned nearly everything in my life. the little brother of a music lover who has always encouraged me with his sage phrase "Is a long way to the top if you wanna rock n' roll" quoting AC/DC of course. I'm the uncle of a lovely blond 3 year old kid who knows everything about Pixar's animated movie Cars. And the friend of a bunch of nutcases who share their lives with me as I go on with mine. I'm a simple guy next to the world that surround me, and I'm looking for leaving a track, not in world's history, but in the story of all the people I get to appreciate in my life.

PHILOSOPHY

My life's philosophy changed while i lived in Barcelona all by myself when i was 19 years old. I realized I am capable of making decisions to build my path and that i could do anything i wanted as far as i tryed it. It basically started when I had to work for paying my rent away from everything i once called home, for I realized that home, in its most basic form, is actually how you can live with yourself and enjoying it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well i'll be pleased receiving and guiding people from all over the world in my hometown, Bogota, so whoever wants to know Colombia, and happen to be in Bogota, well you could contact me and i could show them how to enjoy this place.

As for the places I go, I am educated and grateful, and i will stay like this even if the people who receive me aren't. I've learned that fire against fire is dumb, so I won't do that. I can cook, i can actually do my own maintenance respecting the other people's territory.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've just logged in, and I am eager to build some experience with people linked to this site. As I said, i just want to open my world as far as it can get.

Interests

The thing I enjoy the most is my main career, Design. It satisfies my need to explore, to meet people, to interact with social systems, and mostly to give them new ways to live their lives better day by day. I don't study design to produce frivolous fancy products that intend to satisfy frivolous fancy people with an unlimited thirst for valuable objects, my objective is social.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big movie lover, the director that stuns me the most is David Lynch, since Mulholland Drive kept me awake with fear and confusion the night I first saw it. I expect an impact from the movies that I watch, like: Requiem for a Dream, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Snatch, The Clockwork Orange, Before the Devil Knows You'e Dead, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, etc...

As for music i don't have preferences for a single genre. My brother taught me rock in many of its presentations, i think the best example for what he did taught me is "7 Ages Of Rock" the VH1 doc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived one day as a homeless in Madrid with no money and I got to know that city from the gutters to the uptown.

I dived in the Pacific Ocean next to Grogona Island and swimmed 2 meters far from 3 whitetiped sharks in an underwater cave.

I navigated in the Yurupari river in the Amazon area in a wooden canoe with nothing but a wooden paddle and a plastic cup to take the water out the canoe. I was with a schoolmate that time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I learned to stand up from really bad situations only with courage, I've seen myself hopeless and beaten by life, but I've also seen how life sometimes does that to strengten once's hope and will. But i've also realized that the people that surround me are part of that growing process, and as stronger the bonds with the people are, stronger one becomes. So they best way to learn is by sharing life with other people.
