About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to meet new people, try new things, and get through life and maybe make it out alive.

ABOUT ME

I am outgoing, I enjoy other people's company and I try to stay positive and not get discouraged when things don't go as planned. I'm non-confrontational and very easy going. I like having a good time, whether that means going out and partying or doing new things and learning about new places. I have a good sense of humour and am easy to get along with.

PHILOSOPHY

It is what it is, just do you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch surfing experience insofar is quite limited. I visited a friend in Germany,b ut then made friends with an Australian and an America with whom I traveled to the south of France with to crash with some Norwegians they were friends with. After that went to London and crashed on another couch (beanbags) before leaving on my own to visit family.

Interests

I am a big music lover, particularly Hip Hop. I'm an aspiring rapper and try to do what I can to realize that dream meanwhile juggling schoolwork and life. I suffer withdrawal if I don't get my daily fix of music intake. I enjoy going to shows though I prefer smaller onces rather than big concerts.

I go to school in Montreal, Canada. I live the student life, and that takes up most of my time - class, studying, procrastinating and going out with friends.

I have a camera and like shooting video, although more often than not I don't do anything with the footage I take. I've put together a few music videos for friends but its mostly just fooling around with a camera I haven't taken the time to learn to use.

I recently really got into running/jogging. I find it helps clear my head and it helps me deal with stress and the ups and downs of daily life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've never been "in to" art or ever really had much of an appreciation for it. When I was about 16 I had the opportunity to travel to Milan and to go see the Last Supper fresco. I really didn't expect much other than to be underwhelmed. But when I walked into the room I was stunned, its really an amazing work of art.

I went to Chile to visit family a couple years ago for a 6 week trip/vacation. Half way through our trip...and earthquake hit! 8.8 magnitude. It was kind of ridiculous. Having the ground move up and down and around beneath you is really kind of a mindblowing event. I remember I was on Skype at the time, and at first when the windows started shaking a bit I thought there was just a big truck passing by. But then when things started to get really intense I said to my friend who I was chatting with "I think its an earthquake!". I slammed my laptop shut and started frantically making my way outside. At the time I couldn't remember anything about earthquakes and I was trying my best to remember whether they lasted 30 seconds, 5 minutes, or 30 minutes. It was really weird, it felt like I was on a plane going through the roughest turbulence I'd ever experienced. Long story short, it lasted 3 minutes, my family and my grandmother's house were fine, although we were all a little shaken up, pardon the pun. When it hit we were in San Bernardo which is a suburb just outside of Santiago. My grandmother's house is built like a bunker, one floor with walls that have withstood 3 of the world's deadliest earthquakes. I have family in central Santiago, and when we visited them the next day many of their walls were cracked, and walking through their neighbourhood we saw cracked streets where the earth had opened up a bit. In certain parts power was out for ages. Men would have to form bands to protect their neighbourhood from looters and opportunistic thieves. We heard sirens every night for a while afterwards. Anyways, it was a little wild. And its funny when I got back to my home in Toronto during the summer working a job, another earthquake hit, albeit a much smaller one, which is very very rare in that part of Canada.
