ABOUT ME

I am artistic and thoughtful, but I don't take myself too seriously. I love to laugh and joke around and am always trying to meet new people and see new places. I spend most of my time alone in the studio working or in the outdoors exploring and exercising, but I feel the most joy and love when I am hanging out with my family and friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel really lucky to have been born in a time, place and to a family that supports me in my pursuits. I want to cherish this opportunity and make the most of my life in every way possible.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I am currently in between living in Rhode Island and Alaska, but once I get settled I would love to host couch surfers.

Interests

I enjoy exploring Alaska, where I grew up as well as adventuring throughout the USA, Europe and South America. I am specifically interested in exploring the South of the USA. My sister lives in Mississippi and has exposed me to the joys of southern culture and hospitality so I am exited to learn more about that part of the country. However, right now I am spending most of my time on the East Coast. I live most of the year in Rhode Island where I am going to school for painting. In my free time I go out dancing with my friends, bike around Providence, go out to eat and out to bars, but in all honesty I am usually am so tired when I leave the studio that I like to go home cook dinner with my roommate, drink a beer and look out at the night sky.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide range of music, books and movies. A few of my favorite bands and musicians are Aimee Mann, Brandi Carlile, The Black Keys, Outkast, De La soul and the The Fugees. My most memorable books have been The Fountain Head by Ayn Rand and White Oleander by Janet Fitch. But four of my all time favorite writers are Toni Morrison, George Louis Borges, Gabriel García Márquez and poet Sylvia Plath. This is really dorky, but my favorite movie is Strictly Ballroom.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove from Alaska to Rhode Island with my sister last fall.
