Love the life you live, one smile at a time!
When I think of my experiences, I like to consider myself one who has had second chances. My 20's were all about finding direction, and after some years of college, working full time, and a long term relationship...one year just changed my life. It was time to really live, so I followed my dreams that were too long on the backburner. Finally graduating from my undergrad degree and being able to visit countries I have always dreamed of before turning 30, this next chapter of my life is all about enjoying the moment and living life each day making someone in this world smile :)
My personal philosophy is to love the life I live. Every choice and experience I've had in my life was meant to teach me something, and just to appreciate the lesson that I've learned from it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a new member, but I think it would be awesome to meet up with at least one couchsurfer in the places I visit, and just to be able to hear about their world experience, however big or small! Sharing stories are what make us appreciate this world! It doesn't have to necessarily be about staying in their home, learning about one's own experiences is already awesome!
One of my most favourite things to do is to sit in a coffee shop and have a nice conversation, it could be about anything! I just enjoy conversation, communication, and learning about people.
Music, Movies, and Books
All time favourite movies: Clueless and Dirty Dancing
My favourite books: there are too many! Okay, I enjoy the Harry Potter Series and lots of light and fun chicklit readings (it's helpful if all you read are articles from journals, sometimes I need a break!) My personal faves are the Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella, and books by Lauren Weisberger and Plum Sykes.
Music music music...there are just too many to list. My early influences are Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and then of course growing up there was Madonna...and more recently I'm enjoying hip hop (Jay-Z, Eminem), Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Passion Pit, Lady Gaga, and of course anything from Glee (I'm a serious Gleek!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There have been few moments in my life where something I've seen literally took my breath away. One of those moments was when I was on the Museggmauer in Luzern, Switzerland and had the most spectacular view of Lake Luzern! For me, it was more than the amazing view, but I had come a long way (literally and metaphorically) from before. I was just so humbled and felt so fortunate to have been able to do this in my lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
Just be kind...smile at someone, you never know it could make their day :) Perhaps this is the Canadian in me, but you know, I will never forget the kindness of strangers when I needed help in a new country and didn't know the language or anything!
