About Me

To meet wonderful likeminded positive people around the WORLD, and encourage ALL to travel as much as possible and expand their horizons =).

I am an open minded, easy going professional male. At this stage in my life I traveling as much as possible before settling down (though after February of 2011 I will be local in Florida for a while). I was a U.S. Marine for 8 years, and then attended and graduated from the University of Florida.
After my studies I taught World History, U.S. History, and American Government for 2 years (my first REAL job!!!). I then started up a business with my family, selling and renting vacation/holiday homes around the world. I am now moving my business to be web based, so I can pursue my passion for travel MORE often.
I am a genuinely positive person, the eternal optimist, and have recently centered myself by getting in touch with my spiritual side. I am in the process of studying NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Hypnosis, Body Language, and other arts to improve myself and help others =)

I treat others as I want to be treated, with respect, compassion, generosity, and warmth. I think good people are drawn to one another by the "law of attraction", and many things are neither good nor bad... they simply ARE. I try to live my life in the "present moment" (though I am still working on it as I am very FUTURE oriented... the past does not concern me at all). Even in tough times I try to ask myself, "What GOOD can come from this?" or "What can I learn from this". Above all I try to stay POSITIVE and believe in FATE or DESTINY...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Not much YET, though I have hosted two foreign exchange students in my Orlando, Florida home for several months. I hope to build up a lot of "Couch Karma" by hosting visitors to Florida in my home in Orlando (right near ALL of the attractions at a resort community). I normally always have at least ONE spare bedroom that can sleep two people as well as a sofa bed =). I ALSO have an apartment by the beach in a gorgeous beach town called Sarasota where I can take my guests (depending upon what time of year it is).

I haven't hosted anyone through CS before, but in addition to my two foreign university students that lived with me... I have had guests from ALL over Europe, Latin America, West Africa, and of course North America stay with me. I've shown my guests the local famous attractions, the vibrant nightlife, and special events. Did I mention I am a fantastic cook of international cuisine? ;-)

I am interested in Meditation, Yoga (JUST starting as I am NOT flexible ;-) haha, Weight Lifting, and I would LIKE to get back into Scuba Diving and learn how to Kite Surf.

I enjoy going to the beach when I have time off, sometimes going to the local theme parks, and meeting up with friends at cafes, restaurants, lounges, festivals, and your occasional night club.

I love exploring foreign cultures and immersing myself in them as well as meeting and learning from people from around the world!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading... mainly books about entrepreneurship/ business, real estate investing, travel, and most recently "New Age" thinking such as "The Secret" and "The Power of Now".
I like ALL kinds of music (doesn't that ANNOY you when people say that? haha. But really from Salsa & Tango, to Classic Rock, Hip Hop, and I especially have a passion for Electronic Music (especially Funky Break remixes of old 80's songs)
I like MANY foreign films as well as independent films, some action films, thrillers, comedies, and "cult classics". Any film that makes me LAUGH =) or feel good about the world rank VERY high on my list

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
