About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ADVENTURE!

ABOUT ME

I am a music student from Hawaii that likes poetry, film, feminism, and being outside. Someone said once that I have the soul of a golden-retriever and I'm always people friendly and wagging my tail at any adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

Honesty is the best thing in the world, but so is tact.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New, but excited to start!

Interests

Music! I like to cook, knit, speak German, and drink my coffee black. I love being around people but can also be alone with a book or my music. I love traveling and creating new adventures for myself when I'm not busy with schoolwork.

Music, Movies & Books

Books: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Harry Potter, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice.
Movies, shows, etc: The L Word, Double Indemnity, Diabolique, M, Der Blaue Engel, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Cherry Blossoms, Im Juli, The Stoning of Soraya M.
Music: Mahler, Schönberg, Marlene Dietrich, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, My Brightest Diamond, did I mention Marlene Dietrich?

One Amazing Thing I've Done

The first time I biked across a state line. It was AWESOME. I never thought I'd do that in my life and it felt very empowering. Another cool thing would have to be when I went hiking through the alps in Switzerland. It was one of the most gorgeous views I've ever seen and I was completely underdressed. My friend that was hosting me said we were going on a 'walk' so I wore a sundress and sandals..which ended up muddy and in my hands rather than on my feet. But the ground was soft and there were these waterfalls cutting down from the ice caps above and I think the greatest way to experience land like that is barefoot.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach! I have taught German at an elementary school, I also teach the community as part of a team called SWAT (Sexual Wellness Advocacy Team) and we talk about sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, consent and healthy relationship building. I have also taught knitting and flute lessons. I would love to teach anyone who is interested because what is the point in having a skill if you don't know how to share?

Countries I've Visited
