Year away from rat race, had saved up money but decided to invest it in most important capital of them all, sum of my own experiences.
Like I've usually said, I am fun-loving young man on a quest to live and learn life.
I still don't know what I will be when I am grown-up :) I guess I will find that out some day, hopefully not too soon though.
(Though my more pragmatic friends remind me I am no longer young, which I vehemently disagree with)
"It's better to regret something you have done, than to regret something you haven't done"
From an old Orbital track into quote which strikes a chord with me, usually I have no regrets.. but the former kind usually is much better.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think couchsurfing might add interesting twists to my year on the road.. the how's, what's and why's I dunno.
No previous couchsurfing experience, I stumble on people anyways but since I am longer on the road why not maximise possibility for new experiences.
On the road I am looking, impressive historical sites, beatiful places, cool people. I want to learn of the countries and people I haven't seen yet.
When I am back home, I enjoy; biking, downhill skiing, reading, boating in summer, going out with friends and when weather recommends staying inside; playing on computer.
Generally day could really have more hours in it, how can you read all the books, play all the games and see all the friends you want...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Ranging from classical to industrial, rock to pop. Preference perhaps on current electronic.. rock.. pop.. I confess, on good music I am omnivorous. Current favorite Bertine Zetlitz
Movies: Long time favorite; Thin Red Line, it's a war movie, but not. Has a deep resonance in me.
Otherwise, sometimes a crappy Mars movie can be just as good as a good movie with message, depends on mood.
Books: Hopeless sci-fi reader, I'll dabble in other books but invariably favor sci-fi. Asimov, Banks, et al I grew up with.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Decided to forget about putting down my roots back home and took to the winds, at least this year around the world.
I usually keep what I promise, but before I found myself on this journey I doubted myself. I am happy, I didn't fail myself :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I hope my responsibly relaxed life-attitude is something that can perhaps rub-off... someone to take things a bit less seriously, we should after all enjoy life.
Perhaps I could be a bit better at it even.
