About Me

Working and travelling. Trying not to spend too much time in hotel rooms!

I'm new here. I travel a lot for work. Africa mostly, but sometimes europe too. I'm quite lucky in that I get to do some amazing things, and get paid for it. I've spent days digging 4x4s out of the sand in refugee camps, fed fish eagles on lake malawi, narrowly avoided being eaten by a hippo in zambia and learnt to put up huge sattelite dishes in germany.

I love being outdoors, hiking, cycling or just exploring places on foot. I'm also the best sushi chef in... well in my house!

My friends sometimes call me a mad scientist as I love building weird things. I've put together an HTPC, a camping stove that I manage to get onto flights with, my electric bicycle (africas fastest bicycle in fact!) and I'm hoping to start an electric car soon.

I'm really good at making people ;) I've got a little boy, Joey, he's four now and such a stunning little man. He doesn't stay with me, but we spend a lot of time together.

Everyone can make a positive impact on the people around them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Love to meet new people when I'm travelling, I don't generally need a place to stay, but a friendly face to spend time with is always a good thing.

As I said, I'm new, but my friend Janine has been trying to get me to join up for ages now....

Interesting people, new places, salsa, I love watching cricket, even if it takes 5 days.

Music, Movies, and Books

All sorts of things...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Difficult to name just one... Probably the time I flew my paraglider from the mountain in hartebeespoort to a township 70km away. It was christmas eve, my wing is red and white, and my harness has a black airbag. As I was landing hundreds of kids came running, they thought I was father christmas!

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm, well I guess I could teach you to make sushi, or if you're a fast learner I could show you how to solve rubiks cube. Maybe some beginner salsa moves?
