Just live, learn, love and laugh! And travel as much as we can!
We are Pau and Eva. We are a young couple that decided to travel together to Paris after ending the high school. After that, we decided to move to England, where we worked as waitress and chef in a 4 stars hotel for about a year.
We are quite good at lenguages and we both like to talk and listen a lot, so we love having great conversations with each other, or whith anyone who has something interesting to say!
We want to "live" the places we go to, not as turist but a travelers because the world is full of experiences and cultures, and if you just go up in a "tourist-bus" you miss them all. If you go walking everywhere, you can stop there and meet that and do that other thing you hadn't planned (and probably wouldn't have imagined).
For us, being open-minded represents to not having any barriers, whatever the background is, and we are open to listen and try to understand other points of view.
We are also really familiar people, and so we are loving with everyone we love.
Our philosophy is based on happiness given by experiences. We don't need much money to do things and we enjoy everything we do. We are hard workers and responsibles but we are also passionated and impulsive. It can be resumed:
"Don't regret anything you do, 'cause in the end, it makes you who you are". (It's from a song...!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We've done Couchsurfing every travel we've made since we met. Paris was our first time, and we met two amazing men who took care of us. Then we also used it when we went to Amsterdam, and had a real local experience with our hosts!
We also host someone ourselves once, when we were living in England.
We realized how special this experience is, when our first host, (as he had a tiny room to live) decided to sleep on the floor so we could both sleep on the bed!!! After that we decided that as soon as we have a house, we would do the same for other people. Unfortunetly, because of the money, we still live apart with our parents...
Trveling and meeting people, of course is one of our biggest interest.
We also LOVE reading, cooking and films, and everything that can be related to that. Eva loves to watch films, and try to make them, writing stories, painting and creating all the time and daydreaming as much as possible, also loves to eat good food while Pau loves to cook, talk about everything, be always informed of what is going on in the world, and keep the feets on the ground. So we are basically made for each other!!!
Music, Movies, and Books
We love all kind of movies, music and books! But if there is something that we really love is a good book with a sunny day and the best company or a good movie, with a dark cloudy sunday, in the bed, always, with the best company.
The point is, we like to do everything we can together!
Movies we like: Amelie, Lord of Rings, American Beauty, Fight Club, Inception, Take Shelter... (Eva is now more special with films, as she's found Lubitsch, Fellini, Bergman, Borzage or Godard)
Music we like: Muse, Paramore, Ska-P, Bob Marley, and loooots of more kinds. Almost all of them! One of the most amazing music we hear aaaaaaaall the time is "The phantom of the Opera" or "Les miserables".
Books we like: How the non-violence helps the State, Cloud Atlas, The Hunger Games, From love to love, A Farawell to arms, Lord of the rings....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We have visited lots of places already, but (even if sounds stupid or simple) probably the most beautiful thing we've done together is to watch the sun raising from the sea in l'Atmella de Mar (Catalonia) during the summer and watching our little town "skyline" from Pau's room's roof.
One of our most strange but incredible situations was to see a paranoic film in Cinemes Alexandra from Barcelona, in a cinema just for us. We were completly alone watching the move and, even if it wasn't a romantic film, it made us feel like we were inside one!
Another amazing thing we've done is to go all the way up of the Eiffel Tower, WALKING. So tiring but also beautiful!
And probably the most beautiful and amazing thing that ever happened to me is when Pau turned his room into a Parisian dream for my 18th birthday. There's no possible description for that!
Teach, Learn, Share
We can share catalan and Spanish.
Eva can teach about films (specially horror, as she did kind of a tesis of it) and about art, painting, kniting, drawing, decorating, making up, dressing... She's mostly creative and has lots to give.
Pau can teach cooking, and lots about politics (as he also made kind of thesis about this subject). He is well informed, so has good conversations! He can also show some good books or films that you would never found by yourself! And he has a point of view of the world that is worthy to hear.
We want to learn French and German, but basically everything that anyone can teach us is what we want really learn.
