About Me

I was born in a squat in NYC so I grew up fast learning construction by building my home and community living. I'm a College student, however, I'm already certified as an herbalist and I graduated Design youngest in my class at 13. I'm a certified Lifeguard + CPR. I've run my own bar as well as worked in my families bar. and in High school, I was head of almost every club department. I was classically trained as an Opera singer since I was 7 and I still do it today but not as intensely. I was in all 4 years of play in High school and some off-off-Broadway things. I was the assistant to the awarded costumer Geanme Marin.
I love traveling I took a semester sabbatical just to go out and see the world while I'm still young. I had that epiphany when I was 19 and my knees started to give so I began swimming as a low impact exercise and I fell in love with the water and now I'm a fiend for monofins. I always wanted to be a mermaid but what little girl didn't?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to know the world, yes, But I want to see the world through local eyes. I'm fascinated by my need to "fit in" ever since I was a teenager watching my classmates. I like that the notion of "fitting in" changes from country to country or even from town to town. I like observing local customs and cultures, and living in airBandBs or hotels were ur alone only re-enforces your own social norms. while living in hostile is great socially your surrounded by other foreigners, so you succumb to hostile cultures. plus the fact that its much cheaper than other accommodations doesn't hurt.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been a Spanish teacher to children under 2 and I've been an English tutor for children over 7. And I'm also trading Vocal coaching for conversational French with a new friend I met in a cafe in Villa de Leiva. I frequently trade skills with others because I'm a jack of all trades. I seriously enjoy learning new skills or fine-tuning old ones. I keep a detailed record of all the classes courses and shares on My external hard drive so that I can also pass along audio or literature at no cost digitally to whoever wants it, as long as we are face to face. I don't like sharing over the internet because those classes cost money and I'd feel bad for my teachers if they lost their jobs because of me.
