ABOUT ME

There is no single definition :-)To summarize :

- I very much enjoy living outside my home country for meeting new people, new cultures. Listening to others and sharing is the best part.
- I love challenges, pushing my own boundaries to achieve my goals in life
- I reckon I can adapt pretty quickly to new environments
- I feel I could travel more as I am now finished with my studies (particularly their cost). I want to make the most of the world we are living in for the marvellous diversity it carries.

PHILOSOPHY

Two quotations to sum up my personal philosophy :

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance i nthe rain" (Anonymous)

"To handle yourself, use your head,
To handle the others, use your heart"
(Eleonor Roosevelt)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a couch available until the next 8th of April. After that, I will be joined by a French friend and our space will be a little more restricted.

I would more than happy to show Sydney around and getting involved in any activity in the city.

Unfortunately, I am not able to travel, save for week-ends if I am not working (not sure yet)

Once back to France and settled, I would be thrilled to host people travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to Couchsurfing so fingers crossed I have more to tell in the next few months ;-)

Interests

From a professional point of view, I have a strong interest in cooperation and the achievement of sustainable living conditions for everybody. It encompasses : social entrepreneurship, microfinance, hubs, humanitiriann projects and action, diplomacy, gender issues, land grabbing/food justice, transparency in the supply chain process, corruption, corporate social responsability, interculturality, respectful treatment of people & cultures, etc.

I am a sports person, I think of sport as an engine for life. I did judo, you sei kan budo, volley-ball. I am now doing capoeira and a daily 1-hour training at the gym. I promise I am no freak :-) It just feels good and I don't have to drag myself in.
I would love to experiment the following disciplines so if you have an interest in them, let me know : hiking, jumping, parachute, surf, kite-surf.

I love dancing around. I do it everyday which could be quite awkward when I run into one of your flatmate. Though they are quite used to it now. I am not a good dancer but I may improve over the next few years, who knows ?

Also, I have recently discovered the pleasure of cooking :-)I am preparing our meals at the flat, using mainly fruits and vegies, but always with a touch of originality.

Twitter-adept, I feel this networks offers a big opportunity for valuable information.

Most of all, I enjoy the company of people from different backgrounds and I am always keen to meet new ones.

Well, I am a pretty common person :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a keen-to-learn reader so I do not have a specific book-type. I used to read compulsively and great quantities. Now, it is more on a "when I have time" basis.

My musical influence mainly lies in hip-hop, african music, raggae rap but I enjoy listening and finding out about other styles.

For movies/directors, I am not gonna make a whole list of them but just pointing my favorite ones.
Quentin Tarantino is one, for all his craziness, creativity and changing-the-angle approach.
I habe enjoyed watching : Goodbye Bafana, Notorious, Juno, documentaries.

I enjoy art design and crafting under all its discipines but I am no expert, just a connoisseur.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Coming to Sydney three weeks after I made this decision and setting up a whole new life here was one of them.

I also spotted a few nice sunsets and dawns. Undoubtedly the most magical moments in a day.

Teach, Learn, Share

As you may know or may not know after having read my description is I am new to Couchsurfing.

Though, I think we can all teach, learn and share on the power of people coming together as a community. It is limitless. This is how we do good and have good experiences.
