About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm off to Europe on a research trip and intent on seeing bands, towns, beautiful things - not just the Berlin archives...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping to find places to stay primarily, though in future when I have a couch that doesn't smell like cat pee, I'll be most hospitable.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just crashing at friends' places here and abroad...

Interests

I like to read lots, ride my pretty but impractical bike, sit around in parks and watch the dogs chase each other, drink beer, that sort of thing. I'm in to crafting/sewing/writing, collecting records, travelling, learning languages - just a lazy, nerdy rock'n'roll life.

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: My Neighbour Totoro, Amelie, Grey Gardens, Lola rennt etc - am very open to movie suggestions.

music: I'd love to say it's eclectic but I'm almost always listening to fine indie pop like Belle and Sebastian, the Aislers Set, the Go-Betweens, Jens Lekman, the Magnetic Fields, that sort of thing. I like plenty of punk and good fast pop stuff too but not so much in that same captivated way.

books: this year I've really been in to Richard Brautigan, my all-time favourite is Haruki Murakami, I like to read whatever comics and zines are around the shop I live next to as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Japan for three weeks and teenage girls kept trying to grab my boobs, it was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you put vinegar in the water your egg won't separate.

Chillies have more vitamin c than an orange, apparently.

The Samoan word for cat is 'pusi'.

Yeah, that's about it.
