About Me

"To seek out strange civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before..." (Star Trek, 1968)

Hi Traveler,
Please read the entire profile before contacting me. I've been doing couchsurfing for well-over 10 years. People from all over the world have stayed in my home, which is very large, with swimming pool and pool house. Also, my internet connection is available to guests. Most guests sleep on my living room fold out couch bed (it's nice) or in my home office, which is a little more private. My pool house is now occupied. . Because I am disabled (I use an electric wheelchair), I work out of my home office from 10am to 7pm. My 26-year-old son, Wyatt, attends college and my live-in caregiver, Dana, has her separate bedroom near mine. We have 2 bathrooms, laundry, and all the usual home facilities.
Many famous sights are near my home. For example, within a 1-hour drive, you can visit Yosemite National Park, Sequoia National Park, snow ski resorts, lakes for fishing or water skiing, Gold Rush country along 49 highway, and I am located 15 minutes from the Airport, Train and Bus stations, and 10 minutes from California State University of Fresno. The city bus stop is 1 km from my home. Also, Fresno is a huge agricultural city and offers most of what other big cities offer--dance bars, restaurants from every culture. The beach is less than 2-hour to famous Monterey Bay Fish Aquarium.

NOTE: Over the years, I have connected with many different large and small groups, that is, singles, couples, spouses, strangers meeting strangers, etc. Usually, most desire the cross-cultural experience Couch Surfing offers whereas others just seek to satisfy their budget or other selfish motivation. So, I have grown a little wiser over the years. I am asking more questions of guests before saying, "Yes." My hope is to provide a safe "family" environment for my guests. Therefore, if you are honestly wishing to connect with another culture in a family setting, I'm thrilled to help; however, please note: the host request must be for 2 nights or more. My son, my caregiver, and I... we are truly hoping to find a cross cultural experience, rather than provide a quick and/or "free" motel service,

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will always do my best to be helpful before, during, and after visiting my home as well as helpful to those who wish information about the national parks or the area in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To learn from each guest what their life experience is like in their country. I am fascinated by guests who have world views and ambitions that seek to make our planet a better place to live for all of us. And, I am here to expose my son to many world views rather than complacently accept biased US News views of the world.

I plan on World travel after acquiring many connections here on couch surfing. Hopefully, my guests are willing to advise and/or host me when I travel through their country.

Music, Movies, and Books

All... Why limit oneself?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the age of 15, I walked 100 miles in two weeks to sit atop the highest mountain (Mt. Whitney, CA) in America, excluding Alaska.
At the age of 18, I dove off a rock cliff into the depths of a life challenge and became a quadriplegic.
At the age of 24, I became aware of the "Great Mystery", i.e., a purpose given by God--not religion.

Teach, Learn, Share

Does matter truly exist?
If yes, I'm willing to share what "matter" I might possess in the form of shelter.
If no, I'm willing to share my spirit.

"To be or not to be..."
