I want sunshine to give me a reason to wake up! If I can't get sun, I take vitamin D.
I'm getting a late start travelling and want to find friendly places in the sun. I would be a good person to meet or host becuase I value people and am always courteous and helpful. I've only been to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and had a great time.
I've enjoyed trying to learn Spanish. Es muy dificil a lo aprender sin nadie con quien a hablar español. I'm hoping for an inmersion opportunity to learn more.
I like a drink or two but seldom do late nights.
This is a great planet, and I would like to stay a while. If we all do something kind every day, we'll see that there is plenty for everyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new at this. I'd love to meet for a drink and I can tell you what I know about the area. I live in a wee house with a big yard. I try to grow as much food as I can.
It's all about eating the best food I can. This requires me to be physically active to burn it off and keep my appetite up. I cook almost everything I eat from scratch and would love to learn a few of your specialties.
I play squash (not well!), play ice hockey (again, not well), ride a mountain bike (carefully), enjoy any beach, be it sandy, rocky, steep, fresh or seawater.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like instrumental smooth jazz and flamenco music, but my playlists have an eclectic mix. Digitized music and the ability to play multiple genres at random has changed my life.
Latest memorable books were two by Malcolm Gladwell: Tipping Point and Outliers.
I watch few movies, but did see Pan's Labyrinth in Spanish with English subtitles and was thrilled, happy, sad and glad in rapid succession. Not a children's movie. I couldn't keep my eyes off Mirabel Verdu. She didn't smile in the movie, but she is beautiful like Penelope Cruz.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On a dark stretch of highway, we saw a full moon, Haley-Bop Comet, and Northern lights all together over an undeveloped stretch of land. Amazing to feel so small.
My first time in México, I met a woman in Puerto Vallarta who invited me to her home to meet her family. Her family spoke no English, and I, only a few phrases in Spanish. We cruised the town that Friday night in her nephew's convertible. I love people.
While standing knee deep, casting my line into the early flood tide, I had a Grey whale pass by about 50 metres away. I could hear it exhale, then the amazing sound of it inhaling. I could hear it's ribs creaking with each inhalation. Amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to hear an older person share his or her experience. From travel to work to outdoors to gardening.
