ABOUT ME

I am a painter, I play guitar & sing, love to travel and experience new things & new places. I marvel at the wonder of nature and have a particular interest in roses and trees.
For 15 years I had my own tree surgery company taking care of urban trees, specializing particularly in the care of old listed trees, for example the "Hindenburg Lime" in Ramsau, Berchtesgaden, which is about 1000 years old.
I now dedicate myself wholly to painting.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am offering my place and my shop to other like-minded artists who would like to exchange their working spaces for mine. I love to paint and show my work in different countries, till now I have had exchanges with England, Germany, Austria, Italy, Croatia & India. I love interaction especially internationally!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived on couches more or less all my life, I still do :-) Travelling mostly on a cheap budget and as a street musician from 1984 to 1987 it was very common to end up invited to parties and to crash out wherever. The greatest memories were of Greece and Israel where I did a whole year of couchsurfing.
My own homes have always been open to travelling folk, my Dad even put up travellers I'd met along the way even when I wasn't at home!! :-) I now extend the idea to exchange a working space with other artists. I personally wish to spend time painting in many cities & countries of the world and to leave a cow or two behind!!! :-)

Movie, "Once Upon A Time In America"

Music, Gotan Project to Bob Dylan, David Gray, Oasis, almost any acoustic guitar music, because that's what I love to play myself. I adore Mozart's Requiem and have seen it played live by a large orchestra and choir in a church.

Books, "Even Cowgirls Get The Blues"
and everything else from Tom Robbins.

"I am that" containing the great talks with Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj has accompanied me since 1985 when I met someone who told me, "You are not a person"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

too many to mention only one

- sailing on a yacht from Greece to Turkey
- watching my roses grow
- sitting in silence
- listening to the music of "Once Upon A Time In America"
- looking at the painting "Yellow Stool" by Vincent van Gogh, which I have done many, many times!!!
- being a tree surgeon
- being an artist
- seeing two tigers in the wild whilst in Nepal and hearing them almost everyday when I lived there.
- watching eagles sore over the Himalaya
