ABOUT ME

Hi, my names Pete. I'm currently a civil engineering undergrad at Swansea Uni. Have spent the last year working as a hydraulic engineer as part of my course so I've managed to save up a bit of money to go travelling this summer!

Will be heading to the USA for the entire of August with a mate of mine from uni. Got a camper van booked for the month and are planning on doing the South West - starting in San Diego, then going onto LA, Yosemite, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Vegas.. Or something like that anyway!

The plan is not to plan it too much.. What we really want is an adventure and flexibility to change our plans if we find somewhere we like or people we want to spend time with. We are really hoping to meet a load of people along the way and would love to team up with fellow travellers/locals along the journey! Any advice on places to go or things to do would be hugely appreciated!

Also doing the GR20 trek (North half) in Corsica late September which is going to be awesome!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Willing for people to crash at mine - sofa or bed if available. Bit tricky at the moment though as I've been moving round a bit myself. Will be in Swansea for majority of acedemic year 2013/2014 so don't hesitate to ask.

Top tip for roasting a chicken - cook it upside down for the majority of time. This allows the fat from the thighs to seep through the chicken, keeping the breasts nice and moist rather than drying out. Only turn it the right way up for the last half an hour or so to let the skin crisp up.
