recently retired, I am in the process of catching up with my personal life
I used to run a photo agency that I sold in early 2010. Photography was both a profession and an avocation for me - I can still get high on great photojournalism, and now, that I am retired, can spend more time on my own photography.
I love the ourdoors: rock climbing, backpacking, hiking, bicycling, canoeing
Live and let live. We all have a responsibility for each other. It is unacceptable that some people lavishly spend on themselves, while others are starving
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Looking forward to meeting travellers from different cultures for tea or a drink
Couchsurfed in Denmark in 2011 and enjoyed it very much. Best way to learn about the country and meet its people. I have hosted a few couchsurfers - also a very positive experience - and lots of friends visiting New York, and their (grown up) children. I find their visits always enriching

Music, Movies, and Books
I like low budget movies like Beasts of the Southern Wilds, European and Iranian movies. Reggae, Bossa Nova, and the Paul Winter Consort.
Biographies, and short stories - I am a very slow reader.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
have to think about that
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach my native language, German, though Berlitz once rejected me on account of my strong dialect. Can also teach English as a second language
