About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Interactive upliftment through music and arts! Give, exchange, generate love and positive energy in every moment, especially now :-)

ABOUT ME

I am a musician, play bansui, Indian classical flute, also making experimentation with analog electronics and visuals. Theres a few of my demo sound sketches here: https://soundcloud.com/artetc474
Also one of my drawings here in my photos. Would post some poems if I knew where to put them :-)
Warm-hearted, philosophical, vivacious, artistic, highly creative, intense, sensitive, empathetic, optimistic... I am a free spirit... have been traveling most of my life, slowly absorbing the cultures of Asia; its arts, peoples, fields and philosophies. I continuously study and to create. I dont remember being bored since childhood, cannot easily aimlessly pass time, yet love both silent meditation and social interaction. I live in a continual shift of sensuality and introspection, striving and contentment, attentive to celebrate the joy and wonder which surrounds us constantly, striving to express that wonder in every exchange and mutual appreciation.

PHILOSOPHY

peace and art = love and life

Interests

I am deeply involved in the arts, music especially, though I spent many earlier years as a painter and a writer and also a carpenter. I continue to write poetry. I have traveled for many years in Asia, especially studying Hindustani classical music, specifically bansuri - bamboo flute, most recently through the guidance of world renowned maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia. Previously I have studied classical Indian singing, Raja Yoga meditation, Hatha yoga, and many audio-visual digital and analog media and software. I make my own musical instruments, many of which are modified designs of simple Indian classical and ethnic folk instruments, especially flutes, shruti boxes and tampuras. I also modify my own electronics for performances. The driving force behind my creative pursuits is a profound intoxication in the wonder of life, based in childhood experiences of bliss states. I have striven to maintain some sense of such states of being which I have also perceived in the paintings, conceptual creations, literature and music of many great artists. In the simplest interactions I find magnificent possibilities, if only I am able to remain fully attentive. Some kind of idea by which I live would be - the most beautiful experience possible is freely and constantly available to all of us but for the perceiving of it... we are so often so distracted...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching night-long remote temple exorcism ceremonies perfomed in full classical dance in Bali, Indonesia

Sitting among 20,000 people for night-long silent meditation in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, India

Attending five night-long classical music melas in various temples and halls in India, listening to ancient dhrupad microtonal singing and rudra veena strings at sunrise

Sensing the immense all-pervading peace among temple towns and tribal villages in remote regions of Burma and South East Asia

Teach, Learn, Share

Every moment is an opportunity
every interaction is an exchange
every experience offers wisdom
every person so wonder-filled
all lives are unique
no interest is mundane
