ABOUT ME

Erm, I hate trying to describe myself. I'm fairly laid back, but not without some ambition. I've been across Canada several times, lived in 4 provinces, plus a few trips to the US, just not overseas yet. My list of places I want to visit is far too long to mention here... I moved to Calgary 3 years ago, after spending 10 years on Vancouver Island. Good conversations about life, the universe and everything, especially with a bottle of fine old scotch around a campfire, or at a pub or coffee shop are a favourite pastime.

Not with CS, but I've got intimate knowledge of a few friend's couches. I've also done my share of hosting.

Interests

I like meeting new people and thought provoking discussions. Photography, hiking, people watching, and getting back to Vancouver Island fill my time when I'm outside of work...

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Casablanca, LOTR (but the books are sooooooo much better), BARAKA, Leaving Rangoon, Manufacturing Consent, Shallow Grave, The Bear, Raise the Red Lantern, generally anything with Depp, Sutherland, Caine, Hopkins, Hackman, or directed by Kurosawa, Ritchie, Kubrick (esp Dr Strangelove), Gilliam, Burton. A good popcorn flick (MIB, The Mummy, etc) also has its place. Political and war movies (documentary and dramatization) are probably what I enjoy most..........
Music: Mama's and Papa's to NIN, Chopin to Corrosion of Conformity, Sisters of Mercy to Gordon Lightfoot, The Who to The Tragically Hip, most of everything I guess, just not country........... Books & Authors: Tolkien, Adams (42 ;), Berton, mostly non fiction stuff from Churchill's war diaries to Communion by Whitley Striber. Currently, I'm reading The Book of 5 Rings, Crusade in Europe, Fingerprints of the Gods, and Sun Tsu's Art of War.

Teach, Learn, Share

Photography is my passion, and I love to teach anyone else any tricks that I've learned. I still shoot with my T90, as I can't quite let go of film. I love to try new recipes and I have a few good ones myself!
