ABOUT ME

i want to learn all that i can about people, and have spent my life doing just that. My work history includes restaurants, customer service, farming, among others. i am about 16 years widowed, and have one grown son in college. i am burnt out on the working world, as i have never really had an interest in amassing "stuff". My goal now is to travel the country and see what's out there, while volunteering at WWOOF host farms along the way (if you've never heard of WWOOF, look it up-it's so cool) My current host family turned me onto this web-site, and i'm thrilled at the potential of being able to travel further, learn more, and give a hand to more people with the help of couch surfing.

PHILOSOPHY

Among my greatest fears in life is to be involved in a conversation into which i can input nothing. i don't proclaim to be exceptionally bright, but i do make an active effort to be at least a little bit read on as many topics as i can. Life is to be tasted and enjoyed... not nibbled on nervously, but not devoured without savoring either.

Interests

i love animals, friendly people, traveling, and having new exeriences. Of particular interest, i enjoy helping others. This doesn't mean i'm some sort of a saint...it makes me feel good inside, so it's kind of selfish.

Music, Movies, and Books

i have eclectic tastes. i like music from Rush to Yanni, 38 Special to Stravinsky. For the mot part, i guess, i like the oldies and the super-oldies.
My taste in movies ranges the same way. i have no time for non-sensical humor (I.E. Dumb and Dumber-i will not watch it) but am not averse to some silly stuff (almost anything with Tim Allen) My favorites are probably psychological thrillers. If Anthony Hopkins is in it, i will watch it.
As for books... i will read anything i can learn something from, which...to my experience...is almost anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Very little about my life has been ordinary, so, unfortunately, nothing in particular jumps into mind.

i like to cook, and some say i'm pretty good at it. Wherever i stay, i like to leave my friends with " a good taste in their mouths".
