7 years after I first joined Couchsurfing, I am finally going to engage with this great community.
After 7 years of dreaming about a blues road trip, I am going to be living out this dream, travelling around the USA for 2 months, June-August.
I plan on working my way up from New Orleans to Chicago, June-July, "following" the blues trail. What I am thinking :
NOLA, Jackson, Clarksdale, Memphis, Nashville, Chicago
I welcome people's recommendations of places to see, do, drink and eat... so feel free to get in contact.
I am bubbly, considerate and easy going.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling by myself and I thought what better way to meet new people and make new friends, than to crash on people's sofas/ blow up beds. Also, meeting people who are locals, who have "insider" knowledge, I hope, will let me stumble across great local music venues, cafes, bars and general tips and tricks!
After my travels, when it is back to reality, with a new job (and hopefully somewhere to live!) I will be able to give back to the couchsurfing community.
Meeting random people from all walks of life, listening to their stories, sharing experiences and recommendations, is what life is about.
Music (surprise!)- blues, motown, soul, country, jazz, electronic, dubstep... the list could go on...
Coding- JS, Ruby, JQuery, Ruby on Rails, AngularJS
Exploring on foot, cities while the sun is out (this is a rare occasion in England)
Dancing- tip- kitchens are the best dance floors.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Whilst travelling around Japan, I stayed at Eiheiji (永平寺), an active Soto Zen Buddhist monastery, situated on a cedar covered slope in the mountains, where I joined the monks in their daily normal routine.
This isn't amazing or something that I have done, but it is an interesting fact... I managed to get Dengue fever whilst travelling around Thailand.
