Hi, my name's Phil and I want to live and learn about this place that we call home: Earth, Milky Way, Virgo Supercluster, Pisces-Cetus Supercluster Complex. I want meet weird and wonderful people all along the way. I want to learn fun new things from them. I want to learn how to live my life in a better way. Freedom, justice, equality, autonomy.
Strangers passing in the street,
By chance two separate glances meet,
And I am you and what I see is me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy feeding my home-brew kombucha to weary travelers.
My first two years of couchsurfing have been absolutely amazing! Toronto hosts kept me from homelessness(!), wonderful people were met all along the east coast during a mammoth voyage of maritime discovery, and I was able to give my couch back to the wonderful community during an awe-inspiring year in Montréal. Now, as this beautiful time of my life comes to an end, the travel continues: the Europe, to farms, to mountains, the Med and I'm sure many more super duper couchsurfing friends!
I am passionate about redressing the social, economic, political and historical imbalances present in our society that have reduced the vast majority of our brothers and sisters to a position of effective serfdom. I'm becoming very interested in gardening and farming, and as eating is a political act, I feel that understanding our food systems and where our food comes from is one of the most important things we can learn.
Music - i grew up listening to classic rock and heavy metal but now indulge in the many sounds of reggae and electronica, particularly getting down to anything with a tasty dub vibe, and anything strange or distasteful. Love going to gigs, raves and festivals of all natures!
I LOVE CYCLING and generally being out-of-doors, hiking and skiing, canoeing and camping; tea and toast; cider and chess; crokinole and curry; juggling and jungle speed. Mindless conversations that end up going absolutely nowhere, ridiculously intense conversations about the end of civilisation and the abolition of borders. Cheese. Bread. Fermentation. FOOD!
Traveling by thumb, meeting new people, learning about how they live and they're relationship with our beautiful home and generally trying to see more and more of it - something that sadly not nearly enough time is spent doing!
- performing arts
- reggae music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Palestine's West Bank - quite hard to put into words, an absolutely incredible experience!
Living underneath Mt. Temple in the middle of the Canadian Rockies and looking out at Lake Louise FROM MY PLACE OF WORK everyday for 6 months... mountain fever to the max and I love it!
Cycling through an entire Montréal winter of snow, ice and frost-biting at my fingertips!
A little farm in the French Pyrénées called Ramounat.
Teach, Learn, Share
Love to learn performance artsy things... I can juggle a shockingly little amount but would love to show you how easy it is!
I'll happily teach you how easy it is to get down with our micro-bacterial brothers and sisters and ferment all those cucumbers you found in that dumpster.
Making bread is so easy and its silly not to bake your own... unless you're dumpstering vast quantities, which is a legit excuse to be fair.
