CURRENT MISSION
...to do as little as possible so as to have as much time as possible to do with as I please.
ABOUT ME
When asked to describe myself, two very important qualities come up. Although I could describe myself using many words (funny, cook, happy, smart, techie, brother, teacher, learner, drinker, eater, laid-back, conversational, reader, bicycler, volleyball-er), I feel as though these descriptions depict how others view me, not really who I am at my core. For at my core, I find that all that I am today is based on the fact that I am a MUSICIAN and the fact that I am GAY. Paramount are these two qualities, and because of them, I love who I am, and I love life. :)
PHILOSOPHY
“If we maintain the open-mindedness of children, we challenge fixed ideas and established structures, including our own. We listen to people in other denominations and religions. We don't find demons in those with whom we disagree. We don't cozy up to people who mouth our jargon. If we are open, we rarely resort to ‘either-or:’ either creation or evolution, liberty or law, sacred or secular, Beethoven or Madonna. We focus on ‘both-and,’ fully aware that God's truth cannot be imprisoned in a small definition.”

Music, Movies, and Books
MOVIES: Many, many movies, from There Will Be Blood to Piranha 3D to Anchorman... but my all time favorite is Jurassic Park!
MUSIC: Stravinsky; Shostakovich; Tchaikovsky; Mussorgsky; Rimsky-Korsakov; Ravel; Mahler; Gershwin; Bernstein; Schumann; Berlioz; Beethoven; Holst; and the Dave Matthews Band.
BOOKS: The Stand by Stephen King is my favorite book; I try to read it once a year.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My favorite memory is of a moment in Pisa, Italy. My friends and I were there by accident (we were supposed to go to Florence, but the train workers were on strike) and so we got a room in a small hotel on a hill outside the city walls. As the sun set that night, we sat outside overlooking the city while eating fresh bread and crackers and cheeses. It was a perfect moment.
