About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life at it's fullest!

ABOUT ME

To keep it short I'm an international (French, Dutch, and American) student, very open minded and I love to experience new things, discover new places, learn from other people and cultures etc. I love music and nature and to have fun in many different ways. I lead my life around the paradigm of sustainability and green-mindedness.

PHILOSOPHY

Try to find the positive in things, enjoy life as much as possible, be open. Find wealth not in material or monetary possessions, but in life-experience, relations with others, and spirit. Help people whenever you can, try to contribute to a better world. Respect people and nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's awesome, it allows for mutual entre-aide all while connecting people and letting them learn from each other and have great experiences. It's also a great opportunity to really get to know a new place through the eyes of the locals, as opposed to following fabricated mass tourism itineraries.

Interests

Too much to mention here, so I'll stick to the main topics. Music is a central part of my life, I love to play many different instruments and can really appreciate live performances. I try to plan my life around nature, because I am always fascinated by the beauty of the natural world and the phenomenon of life. Culture is one of the most important part of real wealth, and I have great respect and interest for the magnificent diversity of ways of life and societal mores that can be found in this world. To discover them traveling is essential of course, so naturally I very much like to travel to see new people and places. I enjoy cooking a lot (mostly vegetarian), because food is awesome and learning to make it on your own is a real art that has delicious rewards :) But there's no cooking without producing food, and I am very much into growing my own food by gardening, growing mushrooms, keeping chickens and gathering edible plants and mushrooms in the wild. One of my main interests, which is also what I study, is how to make food (production) systems more ecological and sustainable so that we can durably ensure food security while minimizing impacts on the environment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch a lot of movies, and I'm happy to have no TV, but in general I like the ones that have meaning and make you think. Into the wild and V for vendetta for example would be high on my list.
I listen to a very wide variety of music, from flamenco to electronic music passing through ska, balkan, jazz, funk, reggae etc.
No specific preference on books although they're usually politically-oriented.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A little adventure to the West of Burkina Faso where I rented a motorbike and visited amazing places!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some basic fundamentals of the languages I know, and I always want to learn at least a few words of the language of the country I'm in. I could also teach a bit of music, although I don't know that much because I mostly taught myself to play. I like to share knowledge, past and present experiences, good food and drinks,...

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good time, a little chat, ... some beer? ;)
