About Me

Currently a student at the University of Washington. Majoring in Computer Engineering.

I am a first/second generation Asian-American. My parents came from Vietnam and I was born and raised in the United States.

Looking to explore the world more as I haven't really been away far from the U.S. I've lived and been to the west coast of the U.S. for the majority of my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Planning my first trip to Europe with a friend. (Mid August - Mid/Late September)

Looking for a few hosts to stay with and maybe show us around if they are free, or at least advice on where to visit. Planning to stay a month before I graduate from college.

The countries I plan on visiting are England, France, Spain, and Italy.

Interests

My main interest outside of traveling and food would be electronics and computers. I spend a lot of time building small things and making them do something. Most recently, I hooked up a microprocessor to my garage door to make it open the garage via wi-fi with a password.

In the past, I've built computers and small one-function robots. I was part of the Robotics club and IEEE.

I also enjoy hiking, or doing fun things with friends like playing pool, bowling, etc. I am open to try anything at least once.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: A whole bunch of different genre;
Michael Jackson, Michael Buble, Adele, Josh Groban, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, etc.

Movies: Romance Comedies, Comedies, Action, anything with a decent plot really.

Books: More science-fiction. The Martian, Brian Sanderson's books, Divergent series, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built a computer from scratch. Bought the components and put it together. Building computers is like playing with legos for adults!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn what kinds of things Europe has to offer. I haven't been outside of the U.S. for longer than a few days and haven't really experienced a different culture besides what I have grown accustomed to in the U.S.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Appreciation, friendship, eagerness, and maybe computer advice.

My friend and I are both focusing on embedded systems in our school studies. We could provide advice/input if needed on circuits/computers.

We're also quite knowledgeable technological-wise. Perhaps we could recommend some speaker set-ups, home theater set-ups, future computer/laptop purchases for certain uses, etc.

We are both very clean and will clean up after our messes if any are made. We are not loud or rambunctious. Plus, we can follow rules if any, and will take into consideration if there are certain requirements to be met. (Sleeping at a certain time, being active during which hours, etc.) We are respectful and definitely will not take your generous action for granted.

Besides all that, we're very willing to explore and learn what there is to do around the area!
