About Me

I'm on a disco pilgramage to SF once again for the annual 'Remember the Party' event at the Trocadero Transfer.

I'm a music junkie, disco is in my blood and my life long passion. I run an online record store. I spend most of my days researching new and old music. I have been collecting music for over 20 years. I also DJ for a living and have played at many clubs and parties in Melbourne and across the country.

My passion for music is a huge part of my life and some say it consumes me, i say you can never have too music of a good thing like music!

I'm gay, enjoy going out for a drink or two, meeting new people, seeing how other people enjoy life and pass the time and swapping fun stories about unusual encounters we find ourselves in.

I also enjoy some reality TV - Project Runway and So You Think You Can Dance. I enjoy good food and can cook (very well)

I have many friends, some of whom prefer to be known as bizarre and they are a unique bunch who i love dearly. I'm a social butterfly and enjoy the company of others.

Melbourne has some great spaces and I have some friends that work in great venues and industries so I can entertain with trips to good bars, venues, clubs, restaurants, galleries.

I do what I love and love what I do.

I'm a man of simple needs and pleasures.

I enjoy the company I share with my friends and loved ones and make the most of it.

I don't judge, I try to treat everyone equally.

I love to laugh and always look on the bright side of any situation.

I live fairly independently.

I'm not a big political person, I read the papers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am fairly new to this project, but have heard about it through friends.

I have a couch here I can offer to Australian travelers.

When abroad I can participate/return the favor with a good home cooked meal for hosts.

I can recommend gay/queer friendly venues, clubs & establishments to people traveling to Melbourne and Australia. The party and club scene is very vibrant here and there is always something happening in Melbourne for all walks of life. Feel free to ask me anything about our city and I can answer as best as I can about what I know of the city I have lived for all of my life in.

Where I have a chance, I may be able to guide some visitors around town. I work for myself, so i can flex my hours if need me. Feel free to ask me anything about Melbourne, I'd be only too happy to help out.

I'm new to this an hoping to be a part of the couch surfing community. The concept is brilliant.

A few weeks in and I've already met some great people. Love It!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, My Life & The Paradise Garage.

Music: Disco, House, Funk, Soul, Pop. The disco I LOVE is more of an underground, traditional variety from the 70's and 80's era. I also love stories and history that go behind the music, it's what makes the music more special.

Movies: Dirty Shame, Pink Flamingoes, The Ritz, Jackie's Back, Team America.

I tend to watch TV once a series has finished in marathon format on DVD. Less ads and you can make an event of it like a BIG DAY at the movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most recently: Took part in a Guinness Book of Records challenge for the WORLD'S BIGGEST TIME WARP. It was different, hilarious, a lot of fun and a lot of Jumping to the Left, Stepping to the Right and going insa-yai-yai-e-ane!

Snorkling on the reefs in Bali was an amazing experience. Seeing many different species of Tropical Fish enjoying their natural habitat was rather nice! Three days prior to that I had been caught in a rip and had to be rescued. I'd been a fairly strong confident swimmer to that point in my life nearly lost my love for the water. The reef was very rewarding and a great way to entice me back into the ocean. I doubt I'll ever swim off the coast of Bali again, but I'll always love the ocean anywhere else.

As for amazing parties, without a doubt, Remember the Party has been the most amazing party I have been to. For me, it's ultimate time warp back into authentic disco clubbing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show people parts of Melbourne they may not generally see. I have lived in Melbourne all my life and know the 'ins and outs' of this city.
